FLVS Foundation Tee-riffic Student Statewide Topgolf Event - A Great Success! 

 

The FLVS Foundation is thrilled to announce the success of our recent Tee-riffic Student Statewide Topgolf Event! Held at four locations across the state, this event brought together students, families, and supporters for a day of fun and fundraising.

Attendees enjoyed Topgolf, participated in thrilling silent auctions, and indulged in delicious food, all while supporting our mission to empower FLVS students. We extend heartfelt thanks to all who participated, volunteered, and donated. Your contributions made a meaningful impact, and we look forward to future events!

FLVS Foundation STARBASE Spring Break “Brains on Hands on STEM Camp”

 

FLVS fourth and fifth grade Central Florida students, along with teachers and principals, were immersed in a very special Spring Break STEM camp from March 18 -22^nd. STARBASE “Brains on Hands” provided interactive learning on modeling, simulation, and technology aimed to build career and education awareness and continued learning in STEM.

 

Students worked individually and as a team to apply critical thinking skills as they worked through challenging projects. Witnessing the students' enthusiasm and drive to learn was truly inspiring.

 

Michelle Plank, assistant principal for Florida Virtual Elementary School said,  “I wanted to say thank you again for the amazing experience at STARBASE camp last week.  It was so nice getting to meet some of our kids and their families. What an impressive program and I am so glad that our students are getting such incredible exposure and experiences. Thank you for creating these partnerships.”

 

And from Kenyetta Feacher, assistant principal for Florida Virtual Elementary School and lead coordinator for the Spring Break program shares, “Collaborating with STARBASE proved to be an extraordinary learning journey for our fifth-grade students. This partnership provided them with invaluable opportunities to problem-solve, collaborate, and engage deeply with scientific concepts. It truly personified a STEM experience. We are enormously thankful to our FLVS Foundation, and to STARBASE – Lindsey Spalding and their team for pioneering this opportunity for our students and families.

 

There was truly no “I” in team and the students’ faces proved that this experience was a success.”
